Depending on the application, they compensate for manufacturing tolerances, reduce vibrations, transmit torque, or compensate for different thermal expansions. The requirements differ depending on the point of use: for motor mounts, for example, a secure fit is essential, while for camera or sensor units, precision and vibration behavior can be decisive. At other connection points, low installation space, easy assembly, or a defined power transmission are what count most.
